So, I already mentioned this trick in my salon article, but it hasbecome such an important part of my hairstyling routine that I figured itdeserved a more detailed explanation. I know I said braiding and sleeping wasmy favourite heat-free styling method, but turns out I was horribly wrong. Sidetwisty buns are the best thing that has ever happened to my routine.
My braiding technique was close to perfect, but never quite didwhat I wanted it to. Twisty side buns create big, bouncy waves, and they startexactly where I want them to without creating a strange bump somewhere in myhair. It’s hard to sleep on them, but you really don’t need to.
Every morning, I roll out of bed and spray my hair with a thinmist of Davines This Is A Sea Salt Spray. Then I split my hair into two parts and twisteach side from the top to the bottom.
When one side is tightly twisted, I curl it up into a bun andsecure it with a cheap scrunchie I found at the dollar store. The scrunchiekeeps the hair loose and doesn’t lead to any elastic lines.
Then I hang out, eat breakfast, and go about my morning.
Rightbefore I leave the house, I unravel the buns and scrunch my hair, separatingany parts that ended up too chunky or curly. Finally, I spritz with a bit ofDavines Crystal Fixative Lacquer (aka hairspray) and off I go!
Have you tried twisty buns for styling? Do you love them too?
