When your skin is a stunning shade of Nutella like mine, you tendto be very picky about the black eyeliners you put on yourself. You want theblackest black there is. Not a mediocre grayish black, which feels like theblack didn't live up to its full potential.

Searching for the blackest black is serious business. There areother factors when it comes to searching for the perfect eyeliner, of course: how smoothly it goes on, the ease of application, the price, and how long itlasts are some of the other factors you and I consider before crowning aneyeliner the best.

I've made many, many trips to my neighbourhood drugstore while I was visiting the US. I have, in shame and embarrassment, maskedmy American drugstore addiction by telling my man that I was going to thesupermarket only to come home without anything from the supermarket--but threenew Wet & Wild lipsticks instead.

This is, of course, all in the name of research. And squandering my time and money on drugstore beauty products has reaped manybenefits, one of which is chancing upon the best drugstore eyeliner I've triedyet.

EyeStudio Master Precise Liquid Eyeliner

Maybelline

EyeStudio Master Precise Liquid Eyeliner$7.99

The Maybelline Eye Studio Master Precise Ink Pen Eyeliner is whatyou should get next time you find yourself in a drugstore. This baby glides on my skin smoothly, and my usually uncoordinated fingers tookon a cat eye with much ease.

I tested the eyeliner on my journey back tothe West Coast after spending the holidays with John's family. I put in on inthe morning before we left for our flight, was pleasantly surprised by how itstayed on despite me rubbing my eyes from allergies while we were on a layoverat JFK (I couldn't get on the Wifi at JFK and the lipstick I wanted to buy atthe MAC counter was sold out. Thankfully, there was Shake Shack--which Iinhaled, thus igniting my gluten intolerance itchiness).

We arrived home in the evening and while my skin was parched fromflying, and I was swearing off air travel for a while, my cat eye still lookedbangin'.

I’ve tried this eyeliner several times now and it works wellfor me. You might want to use a primer if you’re prone to rubbing your eyes, or ifyou have oily lids. Also, give the liner a chance to dry.

Looks like I'll be stocking up!
