The In-Shower Body Lotion You Have To Keep An Eye Out For

One of my main pet peeves about beauty products in Singapore is that we never get new launches as quickly as in the States. I mean, if H&M can launch their designer collections at 8 a.m. all over the world, I can’t see why I can’t get my greedy fingers on a new hot pink lipstick as soon as my soul sister, Alle, does.

I attended the launch of Nivea’s new In-Shower Skin Conditioner for my day job recently, and I realized that horror of all horrors: it hasn’t been launched in North America! But don’t worry. My nifty research skills tell me that my latest favorite product that's probably going to set you back less than $10 will be in stores by January 2014 at the latest.

I don’t make generic sweeping statement like, “I LOVE this lipstick, it’s the best!” I cannot say it’s the best because I haven’t tried all the lipsticks in the world. As far as body moisturizers that I’ve used are concerned though, this baby is, by far, one of the best.

Not actually in the shower.

It works just like a hair conditioner. After you’re done cleansing your skin with your usual shower gel and you’ve washed away all the soap and grime from your body, apply the Nivea In-Shower Skin Conditioner. The good people at Nivea say that the formula is water-activated, so you should only use it on your skin when it’s wet. Use enough of the product as you would a normal shower gel and wash it off.

You don’ t have to apply another body lotion once you step out of the shower, so it saves you time. Nobody's got time to wait for the freakin’ lotion to dry before you run off to work, right?

There are two types: one for normal skin, and the other for dry skin. I have both, and I use both. The normal skin one I use on a day-to-day basis, in the mornings when I shower before I go to work, while I use the dry skin one once a week at night. You can actually feel the moisturising film that the dry-skin one leaves, which can be either a good thing or bad, depending on how you like your body lotions.

What do you think? Would you use one more product in the shower, or would you rather slick yourself up with lotion post-shower?
